That's right! I'll be going to EFF again this year, and I'm really looking forward to it!
They have a new building on the property to support all the guests, giving rooms for music, movies, games, art, fursuit change, BATHROOMS (zhomg no more port-a-potties!), and even a kitchen! I can't wait!
For those of you who haven't yet gone to one of these events, I suggest you do. It's free, for one (aside your hotel room, anyway! Which you get a great discount on, so it's an awesome deal), and for another, it brings us closer together. It's more about hanging out and enjoying eachother's company rather than attending panels.
There's pretty much all game consoles, as well as games, provided. You can bring your own games, too. I know there are PS3's and Wii's and even a DDR machine, and RockBand is provided, of course. All on big flat-screen TV's.
On top of that, this event is fursuit-friendly! There's a room for changing, and fursuit games, where one can win a prize if voted best!
Speaking of prizes, there's also an art competition. You have two categories to choose from (or you can enter both! One submission per category though, so choose wisely!), one is general furry art (PG13 or under only, so no nakey beasties doing naughty things!) and the other, portraits of King Elliott himself! First prize is a Wacom Intuos3 6x8 tablet, second and third are prismacolor pencils or copic markers (I do believe second chooses, and third gets what second didn't), and sometimes even runner-ups. Other prizes include a Wii, a Nintendo DS, and IPod Nano's (it says shuffles on the site, but I won one last time, and it's a Nano. Still awesomest thing ever!).
Everyone is friendly and accepting there, and it forces people out of their normal con attitude of 'stay in my hotel room if I don't wanna be around people' and makes them actually BE part of the community. Which isn't bad, if I do say so myself!
There's food served as well, Saturday you get lunch and dinner served and a pancake breakfast on Sunday. It's very worth it.
Deadline's in a week and a half! Get yourselves down to ele.furryhost.com and register for the event, or at least look into the Winter or Spring events (Spring I believe is going to be the big one!
